Sometimes we all face perils in our lives that cause us pain. Examples of this pain can come in many forms, through life changing health issues such as Cancer, ALS, and many other diseases, loss, addiction, disappointments, and many others. We find ourselves challenged daily.
My question to you is, in these times who or what do you think about? Where do you find rest and peace?
I pray that as you read through this, you will understand where your peace and rest can come from. The gospel of John 10: 27-30 shows us exactly.
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
Do you hear the Shepherd’s voice? Are you following the one who gives you eternal life? The Shepherd leads and protects his flock, he makes sure they are cared for, he watches over them always. They have no worries they can find their rest, peace, joy and assurance of safety because of their Shepherd. We can also rest assured on this promise in other scripture as Paul reminds us in Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is my prayer for all who read this: I pray that you will find your rest in the Shepherd (Jesus), and know that no matter the circumstances you face you can never be taken from your Shepherd’s hand.
